World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the weapon's upgrade Item (Historydb.date) template is in %, the weapon will gain an additional 3% of the previous damage every time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of the item will be revealed at the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much they'll improve after a future reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a substantial chance that the item could become obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as you can.

In the final game, you will often find that the Best item upgrade way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for example, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components into them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different amount of components and the costs for upgrading increase as the item upgrade is upgraded.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields some Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be able to claim your upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item it is replaced with a new item of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set of bonuses. This could be a problem, as it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it can use up a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or swims like dolphins). It can be upgraded multiple times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its initial state and the player having to pay for more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any gained bonuses such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or reload speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to the value of the base item. For example, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items may require different upgrades than standard gear. For instance, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. The player will still need to carry each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
